It’s all about timing–when an open heart and creative spark come together

Older people sometimes ask, why aren’t young people interested in antiques? And then there’s the great sigh, “The children didn’t want anything.” I’ve been thinking about it.
Whether you’re perusing a thrift store or acquiring a family heirloom, it’s all about timing. Am I willing to remove something to accommodate this great find? Am I willing to accept this 50 pound solid wood dresser in my 3rd floor walkup, when my last move consisted of beer and pizza to thank my friends for their help?
When an open heart and creative spark come together, furniture finds a new home. It’s not, necessarily, when you find it or someone offers. That’s the joy of an estate sale goer or an antique dealer. When one answers no, another answers yes, and special pieces remain in circulation. This is good for the planet and future buyers—add it to your collection in Valuable!
At every estate sale I attend, I hear the equivalent of “My grandfather had one similar to this.” With memories rising like bread, they add it to their cart. Sometimes when people said no in the past, they say yes in the future.
Valuable would like to welcome its many new clients: collectors, inheritors, appraisers, interior designers, estate sale professionals, oranizers, elder movers, auction houses, etc. In May, we held a garden party in Raleigh, NC to introduce the app to a wider audience. We know that timing is everything, and we’re grateful for yours.
