This Fourth of July weekend isn't just about fireworks and cookouts. It's shaping up to be one of the best weekends of the summer for estate sale enthusiasts, antique collectors, and treasure hunters across the country.
I'm searching hundreds of estate sale and auction listings from coast to coast to find the sales we'd actually get in the car for. We pull from national listing sites, regional companies, boutique estate sale firms, and online auction platforms — so you're not just seeing what's on one site. You're seeing the best of everything.
This week's theme is Americana and American History — because it felt wrong to spend Fourth of July weekend doing anything else.

The Hay-Hall Estate — Rochelle, Illinois

This is the road trip pick of the week. Salvaged by Sonya is liquidating the multi-generational Hay-Hall Estate in Rochelle, Illinois, and the item list reads like a museum inventory. Treasure Hunt Estate Services is running a two-day sale packed with vintage stereo components, Altec speakers, vinyl LPs, neon bar mirrors, a Gerstner tool box, and taxidermy. It's the kind of sale where you walk in for one thing and leave with six. Running July 3rd and 4th — get there early.
